What are the common multiples of 6 and 10?

Common multiples of 6 and 10 are numbers that both 6 and 10 can be divided into evenly with no remainder.

To find the common multiples of 6 and 10, we compare the list of multiples of 6 with the list of multiples of 10 to see what they have in common.

To create a list of multiples of 6, we multiply 6 by 1, 6 by 2, and so on like this:

6 x 1 = 6
6 x 2 = 12
6 x 3 = 18
6 x 4 = 24
...

Similarly, to create a list of multiples of 10, we multiply 10 by 1, 10 by 2, and so on like this:

10 x 1 = 10
10 x 2 = 20
10 x 3 = 30
10 x 4 = 40
...

When we compare the two lists to see what they have in common, we get the answer to "What are the common multiples of 6 and 10?"

30, 60, 90, 120, etc.

Since 30 is the first number they have in common, 30 is the least common multiple of 6 and 10.

Note: Our lists are shortened because they go on forever, but can you see the pattern when you look at the answer in green above? The common multiples are in intervals of 30 (the least common multiple), so you can continue the green list above with more common multiples of 6 and 10 by simply adding 30 to the last number on the list.
