What are the common multiples of 90 and 99?

Common multiples of 90 and 99 are numbers that both 90 and 99 can be divided into evenly with no remainder.

To find the common multiples of 90 and 99, we compare the list of multiples of 90 with the list of multiples of 99 to see what they have in common.

To create a list of multiples of 90, we multiply 90 by 1, 90 by 2, and so on like this:

90 x 1 = 90
90 x 2 = 180
90 x 3 = 270
90 x 4 = 360
...

Similarly, to create a list of multiples of 99, we multiply 99 by 1, 99 by 2, and so on like this:

99 x 1 = 99
99 x 2 = 198
99 x 3 = 297
99 x 4 = 396
...

When we compare the two lists to see what they have in common, we get the answer to "What are the common multiples of 90 and 99?"

990, 1980, 2970, 3960, etc.

Since 990 is the first number they have in common, 990 is the least common multiple of 90 and 99.

Note: Our lists are shortened because they go on forever, but can you see the pattern when you look at the answer in green above? The common multiples are in intervals of 990 (the least common multiple), so you can continue the green list above with more common multiples of 90 and 99 by simply adding 990 to the last number on the list.
